And how can one not be excited about the month which is a symbol of holidays, laughter, great atmosphere and having the best time? December brings us the most beautiful Christmas magic and the only thing you need to do is to indulge yourselves in the holiday euphoria. Make it a December to remember!

1. WinterFest in Subotica

Out in the open-air, in the very heart of one of the most beautiful cities in Vojvodina, there is a real small fairy tale going on. From the 5th of December until the 15th of January, streets of the northernmost city in Serbia, Subotica, are traditionally filled with curious and euphoric visitors who enjoy the various contents, sweet scents and great atmosphere.

At interesting stands and houses, various New Year and Christmas present are being sold, visitors are making themselves warm with boiled wine and rakija and trying out home-made specialties. The sound of holiday melodies and numerous fun contents make this place cheerful and a place to visit during cold, winter days in December.

2.  Ski opening at Kopaonik

Do you like skiing, mountain air and having fun? Then Kopaonik is the right place for you! Ski opening is being held at this famous Serbian mountain from 3rd-6th of December and it gathers around 10.000 skiers for the 4th year in a row. And that’s not it! Traditional opening of Ski season always has some surprise for the visitors!

At the slope and outside of it, skiers can enjoy the concerts, parties, promotions, ski competitions and lotteries. What is convenient is a huge discount on ski passes, so the lovers of skiing, snowboarding, sledding and other winter sports could enjoy the numerous snow attractions at very low prices. 3.  Vršačke đakonije

For those who can’t resist the taste and scents of Serbian traditional cuisine, and especially those things from the Christmas table, there is more than one reason for celebration! Namely, the exhibition of the holiday table, home diligence, souvenirs and other culinary delicacies and specialties will be held in Vršac on the 12th of December.

At this manifestation, besides the usual gustation of the numerous dishes prepared for Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other holidays, a special accent is put on presentation and meeting the visitors with old Serbian dishes. Because of that, Vršačke đakonije represent the unique food exhibition, but also the exhibition of wines from Vršac which you should also try out if you end up in this part of Serbia.

4.  Belgrade New Year Fair

A huge amusement park, skate rank, numerous shows, workshops and playgrounds for years now have attracted a large number of Belgrade citizens, but the visitors from region and the world as well, to the biggest holiday manifestation in the capital city- New Year Fair. There is no lack in good mood and cheerful atmosphere, so the fair represents the most favorite event in December.

From 18th-30th of December, visitors can enjoy the winter beer festival as well, numerous concerts, but also the souvenir shopping, Christmas ornaments, toys and sweets. The manifestation which has been gathering several thousands of people for 55th year in a row, this year has prepared the special surprise- free entrance during all days of the Fair.

5.  The streets respiring with the holiday atmosphere

Unique is the feeling of walking down the streets of any city and breathing in the holiday euphoria and Christmas spirit which have taken over the air. There is almost no place or square in Serbia which is not decorated with colorful light, where you cannot hear the cheerful music of a street performer or where you cannot smell the scent of the baked chestnuts and boiled wine.

Belgrade will be traditionally richer for the Open Heart Square and the Fairy Tale Square, and in Novi Sad, Niš, Subotica and other bigger cities around Serbia during December will be held numerous shows, concerts, exhibitions and other manifestations of the fun character.
