During the only month that has less than thirty days, spread love, wake up the cheering spirit at a spectacular sport manifestation, go skiing in a magnificent nature of Serbian mountains and enjoy the quality theatre and movie pieces. We present you five things that you simply mustn’t miss in February!

1. European Futsal Championship (February 2-13)

Do you like futsal, enjoy the exciting competitions and fiery cheering? If your answer is yes, than you definitely shouldn’t miss visiting Kombank Arena, because Belgrade has the honor of hosting another prestigious sport event. A home of Water Polo players this time will be taken by the twelve best futsal National teams of the Old Continent that promise a great fight.

The tournament will be officially opened on Tuesday at 6:30pm with the match between Serbia and Slovenia and during the upcoming few days. National teams of Portugal, Spain, Italy, Russia, Azerbaijan etc. will also be playing. Football Association of Serbia and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have announced numerous entertaining contests and lotteries, so a real spectacle is expected in Arena!

2. Celebration of St. Trifun or Valentine’s Day (February 14th)

Celebration of true love, marital harmony and loyalty is traditionally marked in Serbia. Liturgies are held across the Orthodox temples, and couples in love dedicate this day to celebrating the most important feeling in the world. The most famous manifestation is “Kiss me” which is being held in Vrnjačka Banja. During the manifestation, “The Bridge of Love” becomes a place where dozens of couples compete for the longest kiss, and it is followed by an interesting and entertaining program.

In Sava Centar, Belgrade, you can enjoy the romantic music of singer Masimo Savić, and in the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, enjoy the songs of Goran Karan. Given that St. Trifun is also considered the protector of tenants, you can take your loved one on a tour of Serbian wine routes and indulge yourselves in traditional Serbian cuisine and some of the local wines.

3.  Unforgettable skiing across Serbian Ski resorts

Even if you’re not a lover of theatre plays, after seeing this musical in co-production of Serbian National Theatre and Theatre of Novi Sad/ Ujvideki sinhaz, you will leave the theatre all smiled and positive.

Sava Centar will turn into a Belgrade Broadway on the 19th of February, the scene will be taken over by actors of the two theatres, and a special note will be brought by the famous Budapest Klezmer Band from Hungary, who will perform live on stage. So, hurry up and get your tickets for the premiere of this play that will stick in your mind for a long time!

5. Belgrade International Film Festival (February 26th- March 3rd)

Since the 9th of January 1971, when was held the first one, until this 44th, FEST turned into one of the main cultural events of the capital city. The prestigious manifestation is imagined as an annual intersection of the best movies of a season, with its openness to the entire world’s cinematography.

Achievements that have marked the history of the world film were shown at the FEST, and numerous world actors and directors have signed into the festival’s history. As the program is becoming better and better every year, this year’s FEST is expected to exceed all the expectations. We will only tell you that 44th FEST will be opened with the movie “Vlažnost” directed by Nikola Ljuca from Belgrade.
