1. EXIT (7-10 July)

Hundreds of the best local and foreign artists, great atmosphere, tons of positive energy and good music, guarantee a unique experience and a plenty of moments to remember. The host of this prestigious festival, which since 2000. is considered to be one of the best and most popular in Europe, is traditionally the city of Novi Sad and Vojvodina’s prettiest Petrovaradin fortress.

2. Drina Regatta (20-24 July)

Emerald, clear and refreshing waters of the Drina, music, good humor, and thousands of people in the boats ready for traditionally good rapid ride through the famous river, make a great atmosphere and even better adventure that will long be remembered.

Central tourist and recreational event in Serbia, which for years has been gathering a huge number of people from Serbia and the world in search of adventure and fantastic entertainment, this year offers excellent program which guarantees a great time. Concerts by famous artists, brass bands and fish soup masters contests, fun and recreational river rapids ride, and much more!

3. Rajac Scythe Festival (15-17 July)

This event, which is guardian of Serbian tradition and customs, gathers skillful lawn-mower men, water carriers, trumpeters and curious visitors since 1965. More than ten thousand foreign and domestic tourists visit this festival, which consists of mowing competitions on Rajac mountain meadows, traditional cultural-artistic events, prelo (gathering of people from the village, where the women would weave and men would do their own handiwork) and an exhibition of agricultural machinery.

4. Trumpets’ meeting and folk creativity review (29-31 July)

Trumpets’ meeting and folk creativity review represents a musical manifestation based on the motives of folk music. Music of trumpets bands specific for Western Serbia keeps national tradition.

More than 35 years of organizing the meeting justifies the attribute “traditional”. This is the oldest manifestation maintained in Zlatibor and it is in fact a qualification completion for the meeting in Guča.

5. European Film Festival Palić (16-22 July)

You love watching a good movie, enjoy spending time near a lake and you like drinking quality wine? Then you should not miss the 23rd European Film Festival. Namely, the fairytale-like Palic Lake is hosting this prestigious European festival since 1992.

It was a long way from its insignificant beginnings with only several evening movie projections, to acquiring the membership in “The European Coordination of Film Festivals”, but nowadays this event is an important point on the map of European film festivals. Thanks to its quality program, humanitarian mission and 100% European content, Palić can boast with the festival that brings together a large number of people from Serbia and abroad.

6. Merry Down River Ride – Veseli Spust on Ibar River (2-3 July)

Every year the bottom of the Maglič is the starting point of for the “Merry Ride” (Serbian: Veseli spust), a popular voyage down the Ibar River to Kraljevo.

The kind of vessel doesn’t matter, what you need is good sense of humor, love for nature beauty and historic places. Different culture events support the river ride. Usually more than 3,000 vessels take part in this whole day voyage.

7. Carnival of Vrnjci (10-17 July)

Do you like glitter, glamor, cheerful music, bright colors and shiny carnival costumes? In that case you definitely shouldn’t miss this fantastic carnival, which over 200,000 visitors every year.

Otherwise known for its beautiful nature and fresh air, during the carnival days Vrnjačka spa turns into a stage of numerous costume balls, concerts, theater plays, sporting events… The main event is certainly the Great Carnival Parade, but you can expect a lot of surprises, great fun, and dancing the fantastic rhythm of carnival music!

8. Danube’s fair (29-31 July)

This year, from 24th to 26th July, Golubac, a city in eastern Serbia, is hosting a Danube fair. This etno-event will cover smaller venues that will offer local food (especially the fish stew), traditional artwork and crafts, as well as folk music, all with the common theme of Danube.

If you didn’t visit Golubac or Đerdap, Danube fair is a perfect opportunity to change that and enjoy on of Europe biggest rivers in its true glory.

9. ZlatarFest (28-31 July)

A festival with the goal of discovering Zlatar’s region, culture and food! In four days you will witness cultural explosion of aromas, scents, sounds and sights.

ZlatarFest is a collection of many smaller events and it takes places in few locations around Zlatar mountain. So, if you travel through Serbia in late July, don’t miss the opportunity to experience this unique multi-location festival and take home some local tradition experience!

10. The Assembly of Serbia’s pipers ”Oj Moravo” (23-24 July)

For all of those who love the sound of traditional Serbian music, art of craftsmanship, the beauty of customs and traditions, this event, with a history of more than two decades, is a real pleasure.

Prislonica (near the city of Čačak) will gather the best flutists, weavers, embroiderers, knitters and masters of the traditional Serbian specialties, in order to nurture and honor Serbian customs together with tens of thousands of visitors.
