Just outside Majdanpek, Beli Izvorac feels less like a destination and more like a quiet discovery. Tucked within forested hills, it offers a different kind of travel experience – one shaped by stillness, water, and time.
This is not a place defined by crowds or attractions in the usual sense. Instead, it unfolds slowly, rewarding those who choose to explore it without rushing.
Here, water doesn’t simply pass through the landscape – it creates it. Over time, mineral-rich deposits have formed natural terraces, pools, and cascades, giving the area its distinctive tufa formations.
The main waterfall, around 16 meters high, flows down a pale rock face, its sound filling the surrounding forest. In spring, when the water flow is strongest, the atmosphere becomes almost immersive – cool, fresh, and deeply calming.

Behind the waterfall lies a hidden passage, a short cave carved by water itself. Standing behind the falling stream, watching the world through it, is one of those rare moments that transforms a place into an experience.
Lower down, the water slows into smaller cascades and pools, where reflections of the forest create a softer, quieter scene.
The wider area around Beli Izvorac offers a rich combination of natural landmarks. Valja Prerast stands out as a monumental natural arch, while Rajkova pećina reveals a different world beneath the surface.

Majdanpek itself serves as a base, but the real highlight is Mounatin Starica – a mountain known for its hiking trails and viewpoints overlooking vast forests and distant landscapes.
Together, these places form a cohesive destination ideal for a weekend in nature.
Reaching the waterfall is part of the experience. The forest trail builds anticipation as the sound of water grows stronger with each step. Once there, the best approach is simple – slow down. Walk, observe, take photos, or just sit and listen. The setting naturally encourages you to disconnect and enjoy the moment.

While many outdoor spots become crowded during holidays, Beli Izvorac remains quietly under the radar. It offers a different kind of May Day – one defined by space, calm, and a more personal connection with nature.
Beli Izvorac is located near Rudna Glava, about 10–14 km from Majdanpek. The final approach is via a marked forest trail.

Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, while sturdy footwear is recommended due to potentially slippery terrain.
