German Ambassador to Serbia Axel Dittmann said in Indjija on Wednesday that Berlin supported Serbia along the reform path, and pushed for the opening of Chapters 23 and 24 in the first half of the year, while Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said Serbia was on the right track.

At a cornerstone laying ceremony for a new plant of German maker of automotive seat heating systems IGB Automotive Comp, Dittmann said the rule of law was a prerequisite for further investment, thus underlining the importance of the opening of Chapters 23 and 24 and advancing the reform process in Serbia.

Vucic described Serbia as an island of stability, with an unequivocal path which citizens confirmed in the recent parliamentary elections.

“Citizens have showed great seriousness, contrary to those countries which did not have solutions for the problems and did not have a European take on the future. In Serbia, the people have said clearly what future they want,” Vucic said.
