After a big accident that happened two years ago, Serbian basketball player has returned on the court and entered the history as the first disabled player who plays in the professional league.

Courage, will, persistence and dedication. These are all features of the 21 year old Red Star basketball player and a girl who has stunned the world with her strength. Many global media have been writing about Nataša’s return on the basketball court after the catastrophic accident that happened to her in back in 2013, and the audience in the “Basketland” hall was overcome with emotions.

Tears, laughter, ovations and clapping. The moment when Nataša entered the court and started preparing for the game was truly special. Powerful emotions and positive energy have flooded everyone, and gave the brave basketball player the energy and lift. For that reason, this game wasn’t an ordinary basketball game. It was the reflection of a great struggle, will, persistence, dedication and love towards sport.

On the Đera and Šoprona road in Hungary in 2013, there was an accident in which 16 persons were hurt and among them two of the Serbian representatives- Nataša Kovačevič and Milica Ivanović. After the scary crash, Nataša Kovačević’s left leg had to be amputated below knee.

Besides that, this was a life match which had shown that everything is possible when there is a strong will. Nataša Kovačević has been working intensively on her recovery, getting a new prosthesis and preparing for new winnings. She showed us that with strong and determined game which was called a miraculous by many. On the court, her absence of two years couldn’t be noticed, she was moving without any difficulties and her rivals didn’t spare her for one second.

For fifteen minutes in the game, Nataša reached five points, had one assist, three rebounds and three steals. But more than anything, the Serbian basketball player showed enormous courage and unwavering will. With her story, she has motivated even the biggest pessimists and has proved that there are no obstacles in life, just highs and lows which could be overcome by our faith, strength and persistence.
