Jevtic told a news conference that the political situation in Kosovo was difficult and it was seriously undermining efforts to help displaced persons return to their homes, stressing that the opposition were staging protests against a single people – the Serbs – and that anything said or done by the Serbs was being interpreted as negative.
We have seen opposition supporters in Kosovo overturning trucks with Serbian goods several times, something which is unacceptable and was hampering the process of reconciliation and rebuilding of trust, said Jevtic.
A two-day meeting, this year’s first, of the technical working group for permanent resolution of the issue of displaced persons, chaired by Minister Jevtic, is taking place in Pristina and the main topics are security, dialogue and reintegration.
The meeting is attended by representatives of the OSCE, UNHCR, Commissariat for Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Republic of Serbia, representatives of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija, several Kosovo government officials, representatives of the Montenegrin and Macedonian labor and social policy ministries and others.
