Leader of the Citizens’ Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic was found guilty of war crimes committed in Kosovo in 1999 and sentenced to nine years in prison on Thursday.
Ivanovic was, however, acquitted of all charges in a case where he was tried for murder and attempted murder in 2000, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) reports.
Dragoljub Delibasic was acquitted of all charges, RTS said.
The reading of the verdict in the trial of Ivanovic and four other Serbs should have started at 10 a.m. but was postponed due to technical issues with the sound system.
The announcement of the verdict soon continued despite the issue not being rectified.
