Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence, the Belgrade Youth Center (Dom Omladine) is presenting a program named “One love Jamaica”.
A film about Bob Marley is being shown on the 28th and the 29th of October, and a Jamaican singer Ras Abraham and the Serbian Del Arno band will perform in the musical part.
The „ Bob Marley- Legend“ film is being shown on Friday at 8PM in the Great Hall of the Belgrade Youth Center. The film, starring Bob Marley and Esther Аnderson Jamaican, is directed by Esther Anderson and Gian Godoy.
It shows the formation of a music legend through intimate scenes shot in 1970. The author of the film and one of the lead roles holder skillfully builds an a connection between Reggae and Rasta music launching an international career and the recognizable image of Bob Marley and the Wailers.
This is the official film of the commemoration of Bob Marley’s death worldwide. Last year in London it had the world premiere.
Esther Anderson is a multi-talented artist from Jamaica who in the sixties participated in the development of “Island Records”, the record company that launched the music of Bob Marley and the Wailers, Mili Small, Jimmy Cliff and many others. Esther is the author of the most famous photography of Bob Marley .
In the „Americana“ hall on September the 29th, the Jamaican reggae artist Ras Abraham performs. The musician currently living in Germany is the creator of the famous reggae anthem “Johnny too bad. He has performed with the Wailers, Peter Tosh, Sly Dunbar.
At 10:30PM, The Serbian “Del Arno Band ” goes on the stage. They are the pioneers of Reggae music in our country.
Ticket price for the screening of the film is 100 RSD, while a ticket for both concerts costs 500 RSD.
