The Story

Traditional recipes, local ingredients and the generous flavours of Zlatar come together in a mountain setting near the lakes of the Uvac region.

The Taste of Zlatar

Surrounded by the open landscapes of Zlatar and the lakes of the Uvac region, the restaurant at Etno Village Vraneša celebrates the generous mountain cuisine of southwestern Serbia. Its rustic interior, central hearth and natural surroundings create the atmosphere of a traditional country table, making the restaurant a welcoming stop for travellers exploring Zlatar, Uvac and the wider Nova Varoš area.

The menu is built around regional ingredients and dishes prepared in the traditional way. Zlatar cheese, kajmak and peppers in sour cream appear together as beli mrs, while the Vraneša sharing platter introduces guests to some of the characteristic flavours of the area. Homemade buckwheat pie, the generous Vraneša breakfast and local appetisers lead into slow-cooked veal and goat beneath the sač, smoked pork neck prepared over beechwood and hearty house specialities such as winter chicken.

Vraneša is particularly suited to long lunches after a morning beside the lake, family gatherings and relaxed meals surrounded by mountain scenery. The combination of substantial traditional dishes, warm hospitality and proximity to the natural attractions of Zlatar gives the restaurant a strong sense of place. Guests can come for lunch or dinner, stay for a musical evening or use the restaurant as a gastronomic pause while travelling between Nova Varoš, Kokin Brod and the Uvac lakes.
