Ivica Dacic, leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and foreign minister, says that regardless of results of the forthcoming parliamentary election, he is not interested in taking the prime minister’s office again, adding that “everyone is preparing for the next presidential election”.

Asked whether it is his “political fantasy” to be Serbia’s president, Dacic says in an interview to the Kurir daily it is too early to speak about this, but that the SPS will certainly have a candidate.

As for the relationship with PM Aleksandar Vucic, Dacic says that only results matter, not impressions, adding that it is his goal that the partnership with the SNS be strategic.

When asked about speculations concerning some secret pact with the Democrats, he says he cannot possibly make a pact with parties that are not sure they will pass the election threshold.
