The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will deploy a limited election observation mission (LEOM) to monitor the elections in Serbia, and the observers will most probably arrive around March 17, ODIHR Spokesperson Thomas Rymer has told Tanjug.

I’m not yet sure about the number and composition of the observation mission, or the number of long-term observers, but it would be similar to the last mission that we sent to monitor the 2014 Serbian elections, Rymer said.

Rymer said the observers were not arriving to look into the degree of development of democracy in Serbia, but rather to determine which OSCE mission format could best help Serbia improve electoral process, part of meeting OSCE commitments and other international standards.
