The Serbian parliament opened its spring session with a ceremony including a performance of the national anthem – Boze pravde (God of Justice) – and presentation of Serbia’s Honor Guard at the entrance to the National Assembly House.
The anthem was sung by the children’s choir Carolija, led by Leontina Vukomanovic.
At the first sitting of the spring session, the MPs will be debating 11 legislative proposals, and the first item on the agenda is the Bill on Employees in Autonomous Provinces and Local Self-Government Units.
At the beginning of the sitting, like every Tuesday, the MPs will be asking questions to representatives of the government.
A new sitting of parliament was convened for tommorow, where lawmakers will consider the proposal of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to elect Zoran Djordjevic as new defense minister.
It seems that the first regular session in 2016 will last only a few days, as the parliament is expected to be dissolved at the end of the week.
