McAllister asked the EC if it had accurate data on the number of Serbian citizens living in the EU in general and in each of the member-states individually.
European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Marianne Thyssen supplied McAllister with the Eurostat data for December 31, 2014, according to which a total of 352,680 Serbian citizens had a residence permit issued by an EU member-state.
The data, which McAllister shared with Tanjug, do not include all member states, as Greece, the Netherlands and Austria have failed to deliver their data to Eurostat.
