The goal of the Vienna conference of Western Balkan interior and foreign ministers, held Wednesday at Austria’s initiative, is to find a joint solution to the refugee crisis, says Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic.

I hope that we will be able to find a solution that will facilitate the passage of migrants, and protect the safety and security of our countries, Stefanovic said on arriving at the Austrian ministry of foreign affairs, where he was welcomed by his counterpart Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

The goal is to reach an agreement on a unified control system and measures that would facilitate the situation for all transit and destination countries, he said, adding that economic migrants should be identified.

Mikl-Leitner said that an alliance with Balkan countries is needed to put Greece under more pressure to protect the EU’s outer border.
