The worlds largest search engine “Google” has dedicated its home page to congratulate Independence Day to Serbian people.

Google has redesigned its logo for this occasion which includes a picture of the “Đavolja Varoš” on the Serbian flag. If you click on that picture Google will display most relevant search results for the search term “Дан државности Србије” which translates to Serbian Independence Day.

For the last year’s Independence Day Google displayed a redesigned logo which included fireworks in the colors of the Serbian flag, while in the year of 2013 Serbian localized Google homepage included Serbian trademark “opanak” (traditional peasant shoes) and plumb.

Serbian Independence Day, also called “Sretenje” in Serbia, is celebrated on February 15th and 16th each year, and was established to commemorate assembly in Orašac in 1804 for the First Serbian Uprising and a day when in Kragujevac in 1835 the first Constitution of Modern Serbia was adopted, so-called “Candlemas constitution” (Sretenjski Ustav).
