This year’s celebration of the Day of Republika Srpska, which was established on January 9, 1992, was marked in an atmosphere of high tension between the two entities of Bosnia-Herzegovina, possibly the highest since the signing of the Dayton Agreement, with the staunch opposition from international representatives in BiH.
On the initiative of the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegovic, the Constitutional Court of BiH made the decision that the marking of January 9 as the Day of RS is unconstitutional, but RS rejected the opinion.
