Serbia remains committed to dialogue as the only way to normalize relations with Pristina, but that does not mean Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) should be a UN member separately from Serbia, Director of the Serbian government’s Office for KiM Marko Djuric said Friday.

“Serbia remains committed to dialogue as the only way to normalize relations with Pristina and resolve all outstanding issues. While we don’t accept KiM being in the UN separately from Serbia, we believe this should not be an obstacle to cooperation between institutions of Belgrade and Pristina in creating a better life for all citizens in KiM,” Djuric told Tanjug.

Commenting on a statement by U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby that normalization of relations meant Kosovo’s separate UN membership, Djuric said that everyone was aware that Serbia and the U.S. looked differently at the whole KiM issue.
