President of the Italian-Serbian Business Chamber Claudio Cesario said Tuesday that the opening of negotiating chapters with the European Union had great economic significance for Serbia and was giving it a “different level of visibility among investors.”

December 14 marks an important day for Serbia, which is clearly the beginning of a journey that will not be easy and will not be short, but is very important for the economy, Cesario told Tanjug.

When a country is in the process of EU accession, this gives a completely different level of visibility among investors, he said.

The most important thing for Serbia at this moment is to have many more investors who can understand the potential that the Serbian economy has, said Cesario, who is also chairman of the Executive Board of UniCredit Bank Srbija.
