Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said Friday that the German Bundestag’s decision to give the green light for opening the first two chapters in Serbia’s accession negotiations was good news for the Serbian people.

Germany kept the promise it made to Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, he said.
Stefanovic told a press conference in the Serbian government that the decision, a recommendation to the heads of EU states and government for making the final decision on opening the chapters in December, showed that Serbia’s commitment to pursuing reforms was receiving full support and the citizens could be satisfied about it.
The path chosen by Vucic – not to sweep Serbia’s problems under the carpet, but to face obstacles and hardships and solve them – was what made the biggest country in the EU to make the decision, Stefanovic said.
