Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command Maj. Gen. Slavoljub Janicevic signed the agreement on behalf of the Serbian Armed Forces, the defense ministry said in a release.
Under the Military Technical Agreement, the air safety zone is defined as a 25-kilometre zone along the administrative line with Kosovo-Metohija.
The decision to lift the 16-year airspace restrictions was taken in response to Serbia’s continued commitment to Balkan airspace normalization and reflects the positive record of cooperation between KFOR and the Serbian Armed Forces, KFOR posted on its website.
