Serbia is the key country in the Western Balkans, and the EU pathway progress of all regional countries depends on Serbia, Wolfgang Petritsch, president of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation in Austria, stated on Monday.
Therefore, Serbia has special responsibility in the region. Europe will be complete once these countries join the union, he told Tanjug.
Petritsch noted that two years ago he issued a book entitled “Serbia Matters”, adding that he still believes in that.
I have to say that over the last two years, Serbia has fulfilled all expectations, both political and economic ones. Of course, there are still a lot of fields that call for improvements and reforms, however the pathway that it has embarked on is the right one, said the Austrian diplomat.
