For the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Serbia is one of the most attractive countries in the region in terms of the food industry, EBRD Head of Agribusiness for Central and South-Eastern Europe Miljan Zdrale said on Thursday.

He noted that the bank invested EUR 100 million in Serbia in 2015.

For us, Serbia is one of the most attractive countries in the region in terms of the agribusiness sector, from primary production to retail sales and the processing industry, Zdrale said at an international conference on the regional food industry – FMCG, Retail-Agribusiness Premium Brunch-Belgrade – organised by the EBRD and Infoarena Group.

Serbia is dominant and has since 2011 had the largest EBRD investment portfolio, totalling EUR 335 million, Zdrale said.
