The reforms effectively put in place for 17 months already are yielding good results and have proved to be a winning combination for everyone, Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic said on Tuesday.
Addressing a plenary session at the Kopaonik Business Forum, Vujovic said that scrapping reforms would not be possible without major expenses.
“Putting reforms in place is a win-win situation. There is no going back to socialism,“ Vujovic said.
An effort is being made to stem an increase in debts, eliminate the deficit by 2018 and bring the debt to a sustainable level.
“Simultaneously with spending cuts, we have worked to improve the business environment. After just a year and a half, the deficit has been cut to 2.9 percent. That is an impressive result,“ the finance minister said.
