Next year’s budget deficit will definitely be lower than the RSD 120 billion proposed in the budget bill, Serbian Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic said Wednesday.

“The deficit will not be the 120 billion stated, definitely not – it will be lower, with severance pays included;” Vujovic told the parliamentary committee on finance, budget and public spending control.
Presenting the 2016 budget bill, Vujovic said that Serbia is on its way out of the quagmire and that the sacrifice of introducing pension and salary cuts has not been a waste.

“With a small pension and salary reduction, we have managed to accomplish much more and also reduce both the structural and the so-called headline deficit, even more than we had planned,” Vujovic said.
