“We will not be buying rockets that are equally powerful or equally expensive – we want defensive systems”, Vucic said during a tour of the Belgrade Waterfront project, adding that Serbia will not be buying protective weapons either if Croatia does not buy offensive arms.
Asked why it has been announced that Serbia will buy Russian S-300 air defence systems rather than invest in the economy, Vucic told reporters that Serbia is investing its funds in the economy and that it does not want to invest anything – or not much – in weapons if Croatia decides not to arm itself with missiles.
Vucic said that Serbia will keep pursuing this policy as long as he is the prime minister.
