The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) decided in consultations on Friday to run in the forthcoming elections together, SNS leader and Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic told reporters on Friday.

We are not creating lists and coalitions against anyone, but rather for the future of Serbia, for people to live better, Vucic said.

“We reached the deal to join forces for the parliamentary, provincial, and local elections, where possible,” Vucic said, describing pensioners as heroes who had shouldered the biggest burden of the reforms and spending cuts.

PUPS leader Milan Krkobabic said that pensioners, who account for a quarter of the country’s population, responsibly stood in defense of one concept.
