Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated on Monday that the first Ikea store in Belgrade will open next year.

“The opening of Ikea has been announced since 2000. Every year Ikea is arriving, and I say that we will finally see it open, this is good news,” he said at a meeting of the Nordic Business Alliance.

Jasmina Vignjevic, president of the Nordic Business Alliance Managing Board, noted that the Alliance has been operating in Serbia since 2009, so their goal is to promote Nordic investments and values in Serbia – good business ethics, corporate governance and environmental protection.

“We are trying hard to do business and contribute to the community,” she said, adding that some of the members of the Nordic Business Alliance are companies Ikea, Volvo, Securitas, Sekopak and Telenor.
