Belgrade has been given the go-ahead from Washington for Serbian planes and crews to fly to the Unites States, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said in the parliament on Wednesday.

“This is the first time we will be able to fly to the U.S. with our planes and crews after almost 30 years,” the prime minister said.

“No other state from the region offers flights to America, including some EU member states such as Greece for example. This is something Serbian citizens should be proud of,” the prime minister said, describing this as a serious recognition for the country and national air carrier Air Serbia in terms of security, at the time when terrorism was eroding the contemporary world system.
