There are rules and regulations concerning the entry and stay of foreigners to be considered, but you shouldn’t be worried as these are just formalities. Once you are done with these formalities, you can relax and enjoy the beauties of Serbia.

Entry and stay of foreigners
Foreign nationals enter and stay in the Republic of Serbia under the conditions stipulated in the Foreigners Act. You will need a valid travel document with a visa or residency permit, unless otherwise stipulated by law or international treaty.
Conditions for entering the Republic of Serbia:
1. A valid travel document
2. A valid visa in the passport, if the visa is required for that country
3. A proof of sufficient financial means to sustain himself for the duration of his stay in Serbia, to return to his country of origin or transit into a third country – the sum of 50 euro per day is considered to be the sufficient amount. The proof is the specified amount in cash, bank statement, travelers checks, credit cards, and letter of guarantee;
4. A certificate of vaccination or other evidence that he is of good health when arriving from an area affected by epidemic infectious diseases according to the Ministry of Health;
5. Minors traveling with one parent must have certified authorization of other parent to travel, or the authorization of both parents or guardians if accompanied by third parties;
6. Health insurance policy for the period of staying in Serbia for the cost of medical expenses that can’t be less than 20,000 euro.
Visas
Citizens of the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Island, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina enter the Republic of Serbia with a valid identity card. The duration of an uninterrupted stay should not exceed 90 days.
Citizens of the following countries do not need a visa to enter Serbia:
For all types of passport, up to 90 days:
Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, San Marino, the Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Tunisia, United States of America, Vatican City.
Conditions for issue of visas:
Citizens of countries needing a visa to enter the Republic of Serbia require the following documents:
• Valid passport
• Proof of reason for travel:
o for a private visit: letter of invitation certified by the relevant authority in Serbia
o for a business visit: letter of invitation from the company, organisation or institution
o for a tourist visit: confirmation of payment for travel services from an authorised tourist organisation (voucher or other proof of payment)
A foreign national may be required to show the following additional documents:
• a return travel ticket
• proof of sufficient funds in hard currency for the duration of their stay in Serbia
• confirmation of travel health insurance for any possible costs of treatment
Temporary residence applications
Expatriates wishing to reside in Serbia are required to obtain a temporary residence. The application can be submitted by a tourist agency.
Within 24 hours upon entering the country visitors are obliged to register with the police station in the territory of residence.
Legal and natural persons offering accommodation, as well as hosts to foreigners, who are eligible for a residence permit have to submit the application to the Secretariat of Internal Affairs in whose territory the foreigner has his registered place of abode, not later than 24 hours upon entering the country.
The holder of a residence permit is also obliged to notify the local police of checking out the temporal residence one day before departure.
