The beauty of green pastures adorned with little village houses, rich tree crowns and fascinating flower colours, combined with most beautiful sounds of fresh water from the waterfall on the Gostilje River is what makes this area an oasis, whose nature calms and awakens all senses at the same time.

Only 20 km away from the popular mountain Zlatibor there is a little place that many visitors of this lively mountain do not know about. However, it is said that once you visit this “tucked in” little village of Zlatibor and smell its fresh air for the first time, you have no doubts about revisiting it.

The waterfall of fascinating beauty is the gem of this idyllic place that, according to the legend, got its name from the hospitality of its hosts. (N.B. Serbian word Gost means guest, hence the name Gostilje) This waterfall is one of the biggest in Serbia, with the height of 20 meters and the enchanting nature that surrounds it, which makes a perfect combination of tamed nature on the one hand and fast, wild and impressive water flows on the other.

Legends say that fairies used to bathe in this waterfall, and today visitors have the unique opportunity to enjoy and feel the power of untamed intact nature. The mossy rocks from which the water falls are indeed fairy-tale like, and if you stand far enough from the waterfall, you get a pleasant, natural refreshment.

Numerous springs, rapids, waterfalls and whirlpools that can be noticed if you follow the flow of the river accompany the beauty of Gostilje. After a dynamic and exciting walk, you will get to a bridge on The Katušnica River, which will take you to completely different nature and give you a totally new and unique kind of experience.

Namely, when you cross the bridge you will reach a true village idyll, full of peace and quiet. The richness of the Katušnica River is reflected in the quality of its fish, so you will have an opportunity to enjoy delicious grilled trout in the nearby restaurant. The whole ambiance will offer you a completely new experience of the place, giving you a chance to rest and enjoy yourself in peace, which will feel very good after a dynamic adrenaline-filled walk.

We recommend that you relax and feel the charms of the nature in this place, which is located 1000 meters above the sea level. The magical combination of silence and sound, of the peacefulness of the village river and the speed of the waterfall will give you an unusual experience and enjoyment, and once you have felt that for the first time, you have the need to come back again.
