Belgrade is a city where at any time, day or night, doors to some “gourmet heaven” are open.

Serbia’s capital has a lot to offer as delicious food and drinks can equally be found both in exclusive and some more affordable restaurants and bars, as well as in fast-food kiosks and bakeries where you can enjoy in some of the traditional Serbian specialties, like burek or grilled meat.

“There is probably no other major European city where it is possible to eat so consistently well for so little – or perhaps, where you could eat so much as in Belgrade”. With these words BBC news reporter David Whitley started his report of Belgrade.

The only thing you need to choose is the atmosphere you enjoy the most. Whether you will visit river restaurants with fish specialties, Skadarlija, where you can find a wide selection of national dishes or maybe some of the restaurants specialized in serving international meals, is entirely up to you.
