Serbia is a land full of stories – hidden gems, warm-hearted people, and memories that last a lifetime. And every story is unique because it comes from the perspective of those who live here, as well as those who visit.
In the series “Serbia, Told by You”, we aim to collect and share authentic stories from both locals and visitors – moments that touched you, made you laugh, surprised you, or took your breath away. Whether it’s a childhood memory in your village, an unexpected encounter in Belgrade, the scent of plums in a mountain forest, or your first sunset on the Danube – we want these stories to reach the world.
This series is a space where the voices of everyone who loves, knows, or discovers Serbia can be heard. Every story contributes to the mosaic of the country – through your eyes, your memories, and your experiences.
To keep all stories consistent in tone and style, each submission will follow the same framework:
- Title – personal and emotive, immediately grabbing attention.
- Author – name, surname, and place or country of origin.
- Introduction (Theme) – a concrete memory, event, or moment that defines the story.
- Main Body – a detailed account of the experience, tradition, or personal encounter, told firsthand.
- Why Visit & What to See (from the local or visitor’s perspective) – honest recommendations and insider tips showing the authentic side of Serbia.
- It is necessary to submit at least three photos (of the highest possible quality, one of which must be horizontal, accompanying your story).
- Please use #SerbiaToldByYou when posting on social media.
We want to hear your story! Whether you’re a local with priceless memories of your hometown or a visitor who discovered the charms of Serbia – send us your text and become part of the series.
