The Hague tribunal has said in a release that its trial chamber would render its judgement in the Vojislav Seselj case on March 31 at 10 a.m. without Seselj attending.
The tribunal asked Seselj to inform them in writing by March 22 if he wanted to watch the pronouncement of the judgement from Belgrade via video-link.
The explanation of the decision, signed by judge Mandiaye Niang, says that the judgement will be pronounced on March 31 despite the absence of the defendant, not because his presence is not required, but rather because he refuses to be present at the courtroom and because Serbian authorities are not using adequate mechanisms to force him do that.
