Serbia’s Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic met with a Ukrainian government delegation on Friday to discuss the European integration process and ways of bilateral cooperation in that area.

Joksimovic briefed the delegation, comprised of Ukrainian officials responsible for EU accession affairs, on the mechanisms of coordinating Serbia’s European integration process and its experiences on the EU path.

She reiterated that the accession process is long and fraught with challenges but ultimately beneficial to the state and the citizens.

The two sides agreed that there is ample room to strengthen cooperation and that their countries should improve relations in a range of fields in the future.

Joksimovic thanked Ukraine for its principled position on respecting Serbia’s territorial integrity and the fact that it has not recognised Kosovo’s independence.
