Members of the Serbian Interior Ministry (MIA) Emergency Situations Sector (SVS) have evacuated 59 people from flood-affected regions in Serbia and a state of emergency was declared in 11 municipalities in the country, the MIA said in a release on Monday.

A total of 28 people in Lucani, 16 in Cacak, seven in Gornji Milanovac, five in Priboj and three in Novi Pazar have been evacuated.

During the night, fire and rescue units were active in the municipalities of Uzice, Kosjeric, Arilje, Priboj, Cacak, Lucani and Gornji Milanovac, and the activities are ongoing.

A state of emergency was declared in the municipalities of Cacak, Arilje, Lucani, Topola, Pozega, Ivanjica, Bajina Basta, Kraljevo, Raska, Novi Pazar and Ljig, the release said.
