Dennis Wilcox, the professor at the San Jose State University and one of the leading PR experts in the world, has recently been a guest of the Belgrade Beer Fest. He thinks of Serbia as “the land of surprises” and recommends Belgrade to anyone who enjoys a roaring nightlife.

Professor Dennis Wilcox’s first visit to Serbia was work related, but since then he has been coming back here with great pleasure.

His vast experience in branding and destination marketing got him to the conclusion he shared with us – people usually go to a place that other people recommend.

Since it’s like that, we wanted to know what he tells his friends about Serbia.

“When I tell people about Serbia I say that it’s a country full of surprises. Belgrade is a city that never sleeps, and the people are incredibly hospitable and nice. If someone wants a roaring nightlife – Belgrade is the right place to go.

I recommend Serbia depending on what the people are interested in, but the country can certainly satisfy a great variety of needs that tourists have. I always state the great potential Serbia has for eco-tourism, but also its cultural and religious monuments of great value”, professor Wilcox said for Serbia.com.

His book “Public Relations Strategies & Tactics” is being used in more than 300 Universities around the world and is popularly known as “the PR Bible”. In it there is a photo of a plateau at Belgrade’s “ušće” (the confluence of the Sava river into the Danube) crowded by people, an illustration of Belgrade Beer fest, the event used as a positive example of a PR campaign.

“I find Belgrade Beer fest interesting. It is unique because it’s free, because 700.000 people visit, and its special charm is provided by the performances of the bands that are popular in this region for over 25 years. That’s what makes this festival so specific”, said Professor Dennis Wilcox for Serbia.com.

“Big festivals like the Guča brass festival, EXIT festival, Nišville jazz festival and Belgrade Beer Fest are creating images that people nowadays associate your country with. They contribute greatly to the fast improving image of Serbia in the world,” concluded Professor Dennis Wilcox.
