Serbian Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic on Monday discussed with Cypriot Ambassador to Serbia Constantinos Eliades the process of Serbia’s European integration and ways to improve further the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Joksimovic and Eliades exchanged views on Serbia’s European integration, agreeing that Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic’s government has achieved significant progress, in particular when it comes to the reform process.

Joksimovic thanked Cyprus for its principled support regarding non-recognition of Kosovo, the Serbian government said in a statement.

The ambassador commended Serbia’s conduct and contribution in handling the migrant crisis, and the minister said that the government has been a constructive partner in the search for a common solution to the refugee crisis.

The ambassador reiterated Cyprus’s firm support for opening chapters 23 and 24 in Serbia’s EU accession talks by the end of the Dutch EU presidency at mid-year.
