Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic said Monday that he would support every effort to determine the background of the murder of prime minister Zoran Djindjic, stressing that he was confident that the country was not protecting anyone who might have been involved in it in any way.

Both personally and as justice minister, I will do everything to help every effort to shed light on the background of the assassination of Djindjic, said Selakovic.

He said that the data secrecy law clearly stipulated procedures for both disclosing and protecting information labeled secret and reasons for doing that.

Selakovic said that he did not believe “that the country which convicted certain persons and pronounced them guilty of the murder of the prime minister has any reason or grounds to protect any of those persons. I think this country is not protecting anyone,” said Selakovic.
