Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met in Belgrade Tuesday with Hollywood actor Steven Seagal, who has expressed the willingness to set up a film association and help attract investment and employ young people in Serbia.

President Nikolic said that Serbia appreciated that a famous actor such as Steven Seagal visited Belgrade and conveyed a true picture of us in the world.
He stressed that Seagal had already proved to be a friend of our people by helping to raise money for the people affected by floods via social networks in the wake of the catastrophic flooding that had hit Serbia in May 2014.
Seagal said that Serbia suffered terrible injustice in recent history and that the United States still had prejudices about the Serbs and erroneous beliefs about the events of the 1990s.

Vucic to Seagal: We will do everything to help film industry

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received on Tuesday Hollywood actor Steven Seagal and backed the efforts he invested in the promotion of Serbia, adding that the government would do everything to assist the development of the movie industry.

Seagal promised he would spare no effort to promote the country he considered his new homeland.

The prime minister backed Seagal’s idea to open an Aikido club in Belgrade, and his strive to promote Serbia.

Steven Seagal noted that the law envisaging tax incentives for foreign productions would bring much money to Serbia, and attract numerous tourists.
