Half of the sum is intended as direct budget support, with the other half to go to the UNHCR, Minister Vulin’s office said in a statement on Thursday.
The funds will be used to boost border control, support refugee camps and provide medical assistance to migrants.
Minister Vulin thanked Ambassador Dohoon for the donation, especially as it will provide direct budget support.
The fact that the Republic of Korea is not a part of the problems caused by migrations but is ready to participate in solving them makes the donation all the more important, the minister noted during Wednesday’s meeting, the statement also said.
