Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic has called a new parliamentary session for Friday, with a motion to dismiss Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic as the only item on the agenda.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic sent a letter to the parliament on Saturday, requesting that his motion to relieve Gasic of his duties be debated at an extraordinary session on February 5.
At the same time, Vucic appointed Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic as acting defence minister.
Vucic had announced the dismissal after Gasic made an inappropriate comment to Zlatija Labovic, a female B92 reporter.
