When the well-known January 1st dawns, and New Year’s presents wrapped in colorful, rustling paper are being cheerfully unboxed, numerous children across Serbia are getting ready for their favorite holiday activity – walking down the Open Heart Street. Parents are sticking to the happiness and excitement of their children because the happiest street in the city has something for everyone.

Special part of the Open Heart Street represents the charity action which attracts more and more people every year.

On the first day of 2016, the Open Heart Street will expand to the famous bohemian quarter of Belgrade- Skadarlija. Numerous lovers of this manifestation eagerly await to cross the cobbled streets of one of the oldest parts of the capital city and witness the historical expansion of the Open Heart Street.

„Open Heart Street“ has been organized since 1988. At the time, actors of „Atelje 212“ were the ones to serve guests in „Srpska kafana“ on the 1st of January. With time, this manifestation has spread to surrounding streets, and today has become a symbol of the entire city.

Citizens of Belgrade, just like the numerous visitors who have decided to spend their holidays in the capital city, will have the opportunity to enjoy the various programs and contents that Belgrade winter has prepared for them up till the 15th of January. From the Open Heart Square which has been opened since the beginning of December, “Belgrade Winter Fest” which starts on December 18th, to the “Fairy tale Square”, number of ice skating rinks and the happiest street.
