Secretary General at the Serbian Foreign Ministry Veljko Odalovic said Wednesday that he believed that the information about the freeing of a Serbian national kidnapped in Libya was true, but it had not been confirmed officially yet.

Odalovic told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) that he had talked to the Serbian ambassador in Tripoli in the morning and they were not yet able to tell the family of Miroslav Tomic or the general public anything with certainty.

He said the German firm he worked with, Ferrostaal, had said they had information that their 36-year-old employee had been freed, but they would only be able to confirm that when he arrived to the company and his workplace, Odalovic told the RTS.

Odalovic said that both Ferrostaal and the authorities in Serbia had received information about his release from several sources, but the official confirmation would be there only after Tomic reports his arrival at his workplace.
