There is no information that the two Serbian embassy staff membersin kidnapped in Libya in early November fell into the hands of the Islamic State, State Secretary at the Serbian Foreign Ministry Veljko Odalovic has said.

Odalovic said for Radio Television of Serbia late on Thursday that the Serbian authorities were in touch with the authorities in Tripoli and had received guarantees from there that the abducted Serbs, Sladjana Stankovic and Jovica Stepic, were alive.

For now, our authorities have not received any requests from the kidnappers, but also no mention of possible dates when Stankovic and Stepic could be freed, said Odalovic.

Stankovic, a female communications officer, and Stepic, a male driver, were abducted when a Serbian diplomatic convoy, including Serbian Ambassador Oliver Potezica, was attacked in the coastal city of Sabratha on November 8.
