World’s best tennis player Novak Djokovic has been named Europe’s Sportsman of the Year in a traditional, 58th vote by the most influential news agencies in the Old Continent, organized by the Polish Press Agency (PAP).

Djokovic, who previously won the award in 2011, received 199 points and was convincingly ahead of two-year successive winner, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton (139), and women’s 200m world champion Dafne Schippers (79).

In the vote, which saw the participation of 22 news agencies, Serbia was represented by Tanjug.
