Scrapping parafiscal charges and compiling a register of taxes and fees, developing the e-administration and simplifying the procedure for claiming maternity benefits are the key recommendations of the business community for cutting red tape in 2016, put forward to the Serbian government in the latest edition of NALED’s Gray Book.

The Gray Book offers 100 proposals for removing unnecessary bureaucracy and ensuring a business-friendly legal framework, the key of them being a further shift to e-permitting and trimming taxes and contributions for the smallest salaries, it was said at the ninth annual conference titled “Economic Reforms in Serbia and the Force Driving the Change”.

The proof that the reforms have yielded results is that Serbia secured the 59th position on the Doing Business list, said Vice-President of NALED Managing Board Ana Brnabic.
