For the Serbian government, the information from the national weather service RHMZO and their Russian colleagues – however different – is a sign that the country must prepare for the worst-case scenario, Maric told the RTS.
All capabilities must be on full alert until the end of spring and monitor water courses, he said.
“A projection by the Russian colleagues says that there will be 80 to 100 litres of rainfall per square metre from March 10 to 11, but our forecasts are much lower,” he said.
The government Tuesday set up an operational headquarters, which is in constant session, to identify crisis spots, he said.
