The Japanese Embassy in Serbia gave a donation of EUR 459,016 to the healthcare centers in Merosina and Mali Crnic, primary schools in Tutin and Kursumlija, the public utility company Senta, the care home for adults Kulina, and the Union of the Blind of Serbia.

The contracts were signed by Japanese Ambassador Juichi Takahara and representatives of the institutions, the aim of the donation being to improve Serbia’s healthcare, education, environmental and social protection.

The projects that have brought us together today will be implemented through the program of direct assistance to local self-governments and NGOs, Takahara said, adding that around 180 similar projects had been carried out in Serbia since 1999, mostly in the sectors of healthcare, education, social and environmental protection.
