Air Serbia is today the leading brand among Europe’s small airlines and, in addition to the announced direct flights to New York, it could also be offering flights to Toronto and Chicago in two to three years, says James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways, Air Serbia’s strategic partner.

The flights to New York, to be introduced in June, must be functional because the entire Balkan market is here, the Etihad Airways boss said, noting that there are no direct flights to New York from the region at this time.

That will be a fantastic gateway for Serbia, opening up the possibility of tourism development, Hogan told Blic.

The flights to New York also open up the possibility for us to introduce flights to other cities in the US and Canada in the future, he said.

We have already considered flights to Toronto and Chicago and they could be introduced in two to three years, Hogan said.
